PhD candidate shines at ICEPE-ST 2024 with Best Young Researcher Award
From November 11th to 13th, 2024, the 7th International Conference on Electric Power Equipment – Switching Technology (ICEPE-ST 2024) was held in Xiamen, China. Jointly initiated by China, Japan, and South Korea in 2011, the conference aims to promote international exchange and collaboration in the field of electric power equipment and switching technology. This year’s conference covered a wide range of critical topics, including advanced high-voltage switching technologies (such as high-voltage vacuum switchgear, SF6 alternatives, and DC circuit breakers) and fundamental physical studies in switchgear.
To commemorate the late Professor Wang Jimei of Xi’an Jiaotong University, who made outstanding contributions to the development of China's electric vacuum industry, the conference established the “Wang Jimei Best Young Researcher Award.” We are proud to announce that Jing Nan, a PhD student from Tony Davies High Voltage Laboratory research group, received this prestigious award under the supervision of Dr Igor Golosnoy and Professor George Chen.
This recognition not only highlights Jing Nan’s individual efforts and the collaborative spirit of our team but also serves as a testament to the innovation and excellence in the field of electric power system switching technology.
