The highly anticipated 6th edition of the International Conference of Dielectrics (ICD) is set to convene in Southampton, United Kingdom, from Sunday, June 21st to Thursday, June 25th, 2026. This prestigious conference, sponsored by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society, has evolved from the esteemed International Conference on Conduction and Breakdown in Solid Dielectrics (ICSD). It broadens its scope to include both liquid and gaseous dielectrics, reflecting the latest advancements in the field.

The conference will take place in Southampton, a leading European city renowned for its maritime and cruise industry, rich history, and bustling port. Often referred to as the ""Gateway to the World,"" Southampton offers a unique blend of historical charm and modern vibrancy. Home to the prestigious University of Southampton, a global centre for research and innovation, the city also features the renowned Tony Davies High Voltage Laboratory, a premier facility dedicated to high voltage research, testing, and education. The TDHVL lab plays a crucial role in advancing electrical engineering and dielectric materials in the United Kingdom through its impactful research and development work.

ICD serves as a premier interdisciplinary platform, bringing together researchers from industry, academia, and research centres to showcase and discuss their latest work. The conference encompasses cutting-edge studies on insulating materials, dielectric phenomena, and the performance and properties of electrical insulation under operational stresses. Addressing topics related to power devices and systems involving insulations and dielectrics, ICD is integral to advancing the energy sector and meets the growing demand for environmentally sustainable solutions.

The conference will feature tutorial sessions providing invaluable insights and hands-on experience across all areas of solid, liquid, and gas dielectrics. These sessions are designed to deepen understanding and foster innovation among attendees.

Easily accessible with numerous airline connections and a range of international destinations, Southampton is well-connected and welcoming. We cordially invite you to mark your calendars, attend, and contribute to the 6th ICD in this dynamic and historic city.  Details of the conference will be posted on https://ieee-icd.org/
